Welcome to The Nook

Our spacious, quaint and tranquil environment is perfect for a quick getaway or even a peaceful long break. The “home-away-from-home” is situated close to the Island in Great Brak River and within walking distance of the estuary, river-mouth and beach. It has a beautiful serene garden with five tranquil ponds, surrounded by trees, indigenous cycads and a boma for leisurely braai's (BBQs) in summer. On those cold winter evenings you can cosy up in front of two fireplaces. The decor is rustic but stylish with Percale White Linen giving a simplistic fresh holiday feeling. Nearby attractions include the Fragrance Route, stunning trails for the adventurous mountain biker, hiker and birder as well as Dolphin's Creek Golf Course. Good restaurants, doctors, a pharmacy and convenient stores are just around the corner. Enjoy your Stay!

Marianne's Home is truly wonderful. Beautiful inside and out and in a great location that has a beach and a wonderful restaurant close by. It is also only 30 min away from Mosselbay which was great. Marianne was a fantastic host that went the extra mile to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We had a great stay! Loved the garden where we had dinner two nights around the fire place. Location is great next to a big lake and the beach around the corner. Marianne and Koos are very friendly. Highly recommended!

Marianne’s holiday home is everything you need and more. All the personal touches in the house are lovely. The outside is equally nice, the boma fire place, outside patio, all the plants and you can even walk to where you can canoe from the back garden. We really enjoyed our stay. The spar is not far away and the Peppeboom coffee shop in Groot Brak has awesome cakes and breakfast options.

Marianne is a wonderful host! The communication and check in were just perfect. The accomodation is a very cozy place! The beautiful garden is a perfect place for having breakfast and relaxing. Es war ein wunderschöner Aufenthalt in Mariannes Haus. Die Küche ist super ausgestattet, man hat viel Platz und die Ausstattung ist geschmackvoll. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Der Außenbereich ist perfekt und man findet alles was man braucht. Die Gegend ist toll, man kann lange Strandspaziergänge machen. Wir kommen definitiv wieder. April 2018

My wife and I stayed here for two nights while we traveled the Garden Route. This house is in a great location to visit Mossel Bay and George while also exploring some less advertised areas. Great Brakriver is a quiet, secluded spot and is very pleasant to walk around and to take in nature. The Nook is a huge house with plenty of space to relax and is close to a petrol station and a supermarket. Marianne and her husband are incredibly hospitable and directed us to some calm beaches while also lending their beach equipment. All in all this was a very pleasant experience and we can’t recommend it more. January 2018
